LaTrice Amanda Strong is a visionary creative, educator, and founder building transformative platforms at the intersection of storytelling, culture, and education. Based in Washington, D.C., she is the founder and architect of Honor U Performance Arts Academy, a 501(c)(3) organization designed to empower youth and young adults through a culturally responsive model rooted in Hip-Hop, the performing arts, personal development, and work readiness.
Through Honor U, LaTrice is not simply delivering programs, she is building a scalable model that develops the next generation of leaders, creatives, and change agents. Her work blends artistic expression with real-world skill building, equipping participants with the confidence, discipline, and voice needed to thrive in life, career, and community.
Expanding her impact, LaTrice is launching Honor U Life Studio in 2026, a community-based initiative serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This extension of the Honor U model centers independence, life skills, and workforce readiness while integrating the arts as a powerful tool for expression, identity, and connection. Life Studio reflects her commitment to inclusive innovation and her belief that transformative learning environments should be accessible to all.
As an award-winning screenwriter and producer, LaTrice creates original work that has been recognized at national and international film festivals. Her storytelling is rooted in purpose, using narrative as a vehicle to challenge perspectives, elevate underrepresented voices, and inspire cultural dialogue. With formal training from the Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts and continued study in performance, she brings a multidimensional approach to both her creative and educational work.
With nearly two decades of experience in education and human services, LaTrice also serves as an adjunct professor, guiding first-year college students through foundational academic and life transitions. Her teaching philosophy is grounded in engagement, identity development, and real-world application, ensuring students are not only learning, but evolving.
She holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing for Television and Film. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology with a focus on Cognition and Instruction, where her research explores how creativity, multiple intelligences, and arts-based learning impact motivation, self-efficacy, and academic resilience in underserved populations.
LaTrice’s long-term vision includes launching a performance-based charter or micro school that redefines education through creativity, culture, and experiential learning. Across every platform she builds, her mission remains the same: to create spaces where individuals are seen, heard, empowered, and equipped to lead. She is not just telling stories, she is building ecosystems that transform lives.
